Hi Ya'll,
After almost four weeks of being off-line I am now happy to be able to get back to normal and start to update this site with recent news... Those four weeks have been pretty bad for us Jacksons and unfortunately things are not improving much in our domestic lives.....But a chain of family events have made us more aware of how fragile our lives really are and taught us that we must live everyday the best we can. We are more focused on our outlook than ever before and this will come to light in the planning of future 'americana's and any other events/shows that we may be doing..
On brighter note, congratulations to Richard Miller & The AAC-UK for putting on a great weekend at the club's Springnationals at Lutterworth, this site is a nice place to 'chill out' for a few days. A mighty fine bar, some good music performed by 'the eager beavers' plus some good sounds by dj.
It was nice to see so many good friends from the club and the aacnw (sam & neil, mike & moya etc, etc) also dave & andrea (aaci) and many more.. Great to see the various clubs supporting each other, at last, there is no sensible reason why everybody can't get along with each other, life is far too short for 'bitchin' & hatin' each other.. Surely it matters not one iota what club or type of american vehicle any individual is a member of or what kind of car he drives...As long as he/she is enjoying themselves without upsetting others there is no reason at all for any animosity just because they don't belong to any particular car club, or their car is not lhd or of a make that is not popular with others..
The Americana welcomes everybody, no matter what their personal preferences are, we just want like-minded people to get along with each other and make friends out of strangers....
My only advice to newcomers to the scene who are buying their first American vehicle, is to definitely
consider joining one of the main car clubs. By doing so they will get to meet lots of folk who are willing to help make their first time a memorable one and it will open up a whole new lifestyle for them.
Bev & I look forward to the Bee Hive Show near Burton on Trent at the end of this month, let's hope the weather is warm and dry for kev & lynn farmer who organise this relatively new car show.....and everybody else who takes the risk of organising a show, it's certainly a very rough road to travel especially if the weather is not good..
The great 'Hemsby Rock'n'Roll' weekender starts this coming friday (see flyer on this page) I hope o see many of you there this year, some for the first time. This rocking weekender is now into it's 20th year (two per year usually in may & october) and should be in everybody's events diaries...
Happy rocking & cruising.....CJ

PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH APPEAL FUND
For many years Americana International has helped numerous good causes to raise much needed funds.
We will only help registered charities (cancer research, heart foundation, asthma, wish upon a star are just a few we have helped over the years). In 2008 we are fully committed to supporting an area of cancer research that is much under-funded by our government.. The death of a good friend (Joe Butler) earlier this year taught us more about how pancreatic cancer has the lowest rate of survival in the world. With only a pitiful 3% of sufferers managing to beat this lesser known cancer.
Those who knew radio presenter & former recording artist 'Joe Butler' will know what a shock it was to hear of his sad death earlier this year (2007). In memory of 'Joe' and 'pcrf' founder 'maggie blanks' late husband 'Alan' and to help this relatively new charity appeal we have pledged our help in raising much needed funds to further research into this devasting illness.
In the build up to Americana International #28 we will be trying to raise public awareness and inviting donations direct to the fund organiser. By clicking onto the above logo you can find out more for yourselves and where to send your donations, no matter how small or big, to.
Do not send donations to 'Americana International' we are not fund collectors.... The 'PCRF' will be present at the festival in the main stage arena, you can make a donation whilst at the festival....
Thank you for your time and support in advance of the festival....Chris & Bev Jackson (Promoters: Americana International).
This awesome '71 plymouth 'cuda belongs to Rip Masters who is appearing on this year's festival.. He is not only a great rock'n'roll & country artist, he is a real 'motorhead' and like most of us American car owners can talk cars all day... He fits right in with what Americana International is all about and a nicer guy would be hard to find...
He has a brand new cd out titled 'Back To The Honky Tonk' which showcases his passion for writing his own songs, this excellent sixteen track cd has no less than fourteen self-penned tracks that are surely going to please his legion of rock'n'roll fans and his soon to be uk country fans..
As they say on the fairgrounds 'everyone's a winners' with great rocking country and ballads that sure to please all of his fans, with some very dance-able tracks to get down and boogie to... Rip will have a bunch of cd's with him at the festival, take my advice it will be money well spent that's for sure, plus he'll personally sign it for you....CJ
The excellent UK Rock magazine recently did a great feature on Vince, to see it click on the banner below.... Dell Richardson of Radio Caroline also did a great live interview with vince recently, check it out on their website..
